At Genesis House Ministries, we believe in fostering a sense of community and connection through engaging events, outings, and recreational activities. These experiences are designed to support our residents’ holistic recovery and reintegration into society. Below is an overview of our recent and ongoing efforts:

Community Engagement and Volunteering

​We are proud to contribute to the local community by participating in volunteer opportunities:

  • Volunteered with organizations such as the Salvation Army, Victory House Ministries, and Honey’s Helping Hands.

  • Participated in Light the Night and the Gala to support community awareness and engagement.

Recreational and Social Outings

Encouraging healthy, fun experiences to build social bonds and enjoyment:

  • Attended Recovery Retreats, National Day of Prayer event, and church picnic.

  • Enjoyed activities like bowling, fishing, mini-golf, church picnic, and attending car shows.

  • Visits to the library and local parks for leisure and relaxation.

Spiritual Growth and Recovery Meetings

  • NA/AA Meetings: Both in-house and at outside locations.

  • Celebrate Recovery: Weekly gatherings offering a faith-based approach to recovery.

  • Church Services and Bible Study: Regular participation in spiritual development.

  • Graduation: In house Graduation Ceremonies for those who complete the program. 

Seasonal and Creative Activities

Inspiring creativity and a connection to nature with seasonal events:

  • Rejuvenated the garden in the spring, fostering teamwork and appreciation for the outdoors.

  • Organized an Easter Egg Hunt for the Spring season with creativity and fun.
